Newsletter June 2017

Again this June,  Sunsport is offering a special deal on accommodations: Stay one night, get a second night free.  This is a great opportunity to have a weekend stay for the price of one night.  We have put two large, attractive rental trailers on line to replace trailers which needed to be retired.  Try them out.

Sunsport is participating in Women’s Weekend June 2-4.  Ground fees will be half price for women.  If women rent an accommodation for a night, the next two nights will be free, three nights for the price of one.  Special Women’s Weekend activities include the Friday evening drum circle, morning meditation/reflection and breakfast, interactive discussions, chakra dancing, arts & crafts, pool time, and girls’ movie night.

On Sunday afternoon of July 4th Weekend (July 2) the popular Island Brothers Reggae Band will return play poolside. Come dance around the pool deck or in the water.

Last month the Joey Tenuto Band played poolside on Memorial Day Weekend.  The pool was full of happy dancers.  Also, the dragon fruit plant bloomed for the first time with two gorgeous flowers.  Check out the photos in this newsletter.

Sunsport’s 10th Annual Naturist Family Youth Camp will be July 1523.  Spaces for campers are still available.  Children aged 4-17  and their families will experience a fun week of growth and community emphasizing interpersonal relations skills, learning, and creativity in a natural environment.   As usual we will have a fun-filled day playing in the sand and surf at a clothing-optional ocean beach, a camp variety show, crafts, nature exploration, canuding and kayaking, non-competitive sports, producing a claymation video, campfires, and lots of pool time, with individual attention for each camper.  There will be special activities best done clothesfree such as a slip-n-slide with paint, tie dye, water balloon throwing, gooey games, and a 10 foot ice cream sundae with as much landing on bodies as in mouths. Workshops on being proud of who we are, body acceptance, communication skills, and conflict resolution will help establish an atmosphere of caring about each other’s feelings and positive relationships.

Parents are encouraged to attend the camp participating as much or as little as they like.  Most of the favorite counselors will be returning.  A gallery of camp photos, articles, and claymation videos from past years are on Sunsport’s website.  Enrollment forms are also on Sunsport’s website.  If your child is attending, please email me at morleynaturist@hotmail.com.  I need to know the names and ages of campers and any activities adult family members might like to lead.  This information would be helpful to Sandi Reamer who is working with me on the camp schedule.   AANR-Florida is offering a scholarship for a camper whose parents are AANR-Florida members.  Please let me now if you are interested.   I want to thank the Naturist Education Foundation (part of the Naturist Society) and the American Association for Nude Recreation for making significant financial contribution to help support the camp.

Anne and I start our summer travels starting this month.  I will be leading workshops at the Eastern Naturist Gathering in June in Pennsylvania and producing the Northeast Naturist Festival in August at Empire Haven in New York.  We will also be visiting my children and grandchildren in New York, Oregon, and California.  However, we will never be away from Sunsport for more than two weeks at a time.  No matter where we travel, it is always wonderful to return to Sunsport.
