The Midwinter Naturist Festival, February 15-20, is Sunsport‘s and the Naturist Society’s largest event of the year.   Sunsport will be full of naturists from all over North America and beyond to choose from 288 scheduled activities.  New this year, talented performers and playwrights LaDonna Allison and Bill Pacer will present three historical and autobiographical one act plays.  Favorites Armand and Angelina, Faerie Elaine, and David Redmond will return.  Drum circles and movies happen each evening and trips to clothing-optional beaches on Tuesday.  There will also be Skin cancer screening will be available Saturday and the Bloodmobile will be here Sunday.  You can find the full Festival program including a description of each workshop on Sunsport‘s and the Naturist Society’s websites.
The Festival will serve as a reunion for the July Family Youth Camp with many of the campers and counselors returning to participate in a full schedule of activities for children.
All Sunsport members who lead at least two workshops or volunteer to help for at least five hours will have their registration fee waived.  Those wishing to volunteer in the office, in the restaurant, at the hospitality booth, checking showers and rest rooms, moving chairs, or parking cars should attend a volunteer meeting Tuesday, February 6th, at 8 pm in the pavilion.

Other major events for February are the Community Drum Circle on February 2nd, the Annual Super Bowl Party on the 4th, and the Annual Coed Fun Volleyball Tournament on Sunday, the 25th. To  register for the volleyball tournament, see Barbara Skinner, Marty Menane, or Galt at the volleyball court if you are interested in playing.  All skill levels are mixed with teams made up of different people each game.
There will be a Chinese Auction which will benefit the Palm Beach County food Bank on the 25th and an Appreciation Dessert Party for people who have volunteered this season on the 27th.
February has several live music events.  Jonnell Cross plays for the St. Valentine’s Prom Night Dance on Saturday the 10th.  The Main Street Band will provide music for the Mardi Gras Dance on the 24th.  Valerie White plays poolside on Sunday the 11th.  A Stardust Memories Romantic Dance is scheduled for Friday, the 23rd.
Square dancing is now each Monday evening joining other regular activities including zumba, line dancing, game evenings, yoga, poker evenings, water aerobics and Saturday evening dances.
Sunsport’s restaurant is now open daily from 10 am to 2 pm for breakfast and lunch and from 6 pm to 8 pm for dinner.  The early morning breakfast hours have been cancelled due to lack of interest.  The meal times will be different during the Festival.  Chef Casey is now turning out incredible meals each evening except Sunday when we have the popular Thai Buffet.
Sunsport is seeking a part time cook and a person to work part time on the grounds and maintenance team.  Preference will be given to people who live at or plan to live at Sunsport.  Contact the Sunsport office for an application.
Reminder: Please use the appropriate containers for throwing out items.  Place materials such as paper and cardboard in the yellow bins; cans, plastics except Styrofoam, juice boxes, and glass and plastic bottles in the blue bins. Place large items such as platforms and furniture near, but not in, the dumpster. Place only bagged garbage and small items in the dumpster.  Never place plastic bags in the bins since they clog the recycling equipment.
February is always Sunsport’s busiest month of the year.  All our camping sites with hook-ups are full as are most of our rental units.  However, we always have space for tenting and dry camping.  This is a great time to enjoy Sunsport with friends you haven’t seen for a while and an opportunity to make new friends.
